November 29, 2017- GCC demonstrated its innovative GramHealth: Portable Health Clinic (PHC) project at Science Agora held on 25 November 2017 in Tokyo, Japan. Two directors of GCC- Dr. Ashir Ahmed and Dr. Rafiqul Islam Maruf, who respectively work as Associate Professor at Kyushu University, spoke at a panel of Science Agora on the concept of PHC and its activities in Bangladesh. Every year Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) organizes a conference called Science Agora that connects multidisciplinary people from various sectors and generations both from Japan and abroad with a view to harmonizing the society with the innovations of science and technology. In this year’s conference, Nobel Laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus attended as a keynote speaker. At a separate panel on the theme ‘Innovation in Universal e-Health: Portable Health Clinic System in Asian Communities’, other speakers also shared their experience on PHC activities in Asian countries such as India and Cambodia.
