About Us

Global Communication Center (GCC), the R&D wing of Grameen Communications, aims to produce and promote ICT to provide social services for the unreached communities. The major target of the research activities is to identify technical requirements and develop affordable services along with business models that are replicable and self-sustaining.

GCC has been launched as a joint project based on the agreement between Grameen Communications, Bangladesh and Kyushu University, Japan to carry out collaborative research towards the goal of building a Social Information Infrastructure (SII) model for developing countries.
